Introducing the HLO Roadshow! - Jan 27 & 28 in Arcata & Fortuna
We are delighted to present our new performing group, the HLO Roadshow ~ aka Pretty Darn Good Singers ~ in a two-night Broadway Review: Friday, January 27 at the Arcata Playhouse (9th St, Arcata) and Saturday, January 28 at the Fortuna Monday Club (Main Street, Fortuna). Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 and are available at Holly Yashi in Arcata and at the Fortuna Music Mart.
The ensemble is led by Sharon Welton at the piano, with vocalists Brad Curtis, Cindy Cress, Tandy Floyd, James Gadd, Sarah Mullen, Kevin Richards, Bill Ryder, Carol Ryder, Molly Severdia and Kevin Sharkey. These "Pretty Darn Good Singers" represent some of the most experienced musical theatre artists in the county. The Broadway Review highlights songs from classical composers Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein, to Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Flaherty, and features rafter-raising versions of Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Standing on the Corner.
The HLO Roadshow is a new performance-based fundraising ensemble - all event proceeds go to support upcoming HLOC productions. This week's Broadway reviews are a fundraiser for our spring production of Damn Yankees (April 13-28 at College of the Redwoods Forum Theater).
