synopsis

Winner of six Tony Awards, including best musical of 1990, this clever musical spoof of the private eye movie genre promises an evening of lively comedy. With a book written by Larry Gelbart of M*A*S*H fame, City of Angels blends the mystery and wry humor of Film Noir with a satirical, romantic look at Hollywood of the 1940’s. The story is centered around a New York novelist writing his first screen adaptation of a best seller. The screen play comes to life complete with Sam Spade-like characters and classic lines such as, "Only the floor kept her legs from going on forever." The show is packed with fast paced adult comedy, smart one-liners, and a fantastically energetic and contemporary jazz score. It is a rare treat!
